The small museum is extremely informative and very well laid out, providing a hands on experience for visitors of all ages. The canal boat tour is excellent, as are the historic buildings. The volunteer guides in period attire are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The Wabash and Erie Canal in Delphi should be at the top of the list for Indiana day trip destinations. We visit a couple of times each year and will continue to do so. Every time we learn something new.
Definitely coming back to spend more time here!
This park and interpretive center/museum is a hidden gem here in the Lafayette/Delphi area! It is affordable for families with young children. There are many kid appropriate activities in the interpretive center that are hands on and educational. Our kids, ages 6, 4 and 2 all loved the activities.
Beautiful, well-designed museum. Interesting and informative displays.
Wonderful museum and conference center, several campsites. Took a long walk along the canal on the old tow path.
The canal boat trip was awesome. The museum is detailed and rich with Indiana's history. Fun and interactive to keep the attention of all ages. A wonderful display of the area heritage.
Hours are 1-4pm Monday through Sunday during the summer. Boat rides are about a half hour long and are very pleasant and super informative. The interpretive center is on the grounds of Delphi's Canal Park and include camping for RVs and tents. It could be a great weekend trip with one or two overnights, hiking, museum time, and exploring the historical cabins.
